About Us:

Foton Pak Bus Co (Pvt) Ltd is the distributor of BeijiFoton Motor Co Ltd (Foton), buses in Pakistan. Our affiliation with Fotonover the last 7 years also supported projects in Thailand and United States. We maintained distribution rights and provided major investments in each country, exceeding USD7 million, to design, develop and market Foton buses to local transit authorities.

Foton Pak is a large public transport company operating urban and suburban routes within the metropolitan area of Lahore. Working closely and in partnership with Lahore Transport Company, and in alliance with the Government of Punjab, Foton Pak provides essential transportation services to a population area of over 13 million people. Foton Pak has been awarded the most prestigious urban routes in Lahore at the detriment of numerous older, more established operators. We are slowly growing into the requirements of these large and heavily populated routes along Canal Road, Main Boulevard, Ferozepur Road and Grand Trunk Road.

Foton Pak plans to grow the urban bus business to 500 city transit buses by 2015 within 3 major metropolitan areas – Lahore, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi. Already surveys and route planning, along with an MOU with the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce has been completed. Faisalabad requires up to 150 city and inter-city buses to service the peripheral factory locations. Rawalpindi will have new surveys completed in 2014.

Foton Pak plans on expanding into the area of inter-city buses by late-2013. We will operate 13.3-meter tandem-axle diesel buses providing super luxury services between major cities in Punjab. Our super luxury service will include free Wi-Fi, personal entertainment at each seat and on-board lavatory and refreshment facilities. We expect to deploy 200 such buses over a 24-month period beginning November 2013 on select routes within Punjab. An investment of PKR2 billion is planned to initiate the project with 50 buses between Lahore and Islamabad.

Foton Pak is working with 2 Chinese bus manufacturers, YaXing and Sunwin to source the building of local assembly facilities to allow for more competitive pricing of diesel buses. Such buses now carry enormous import duties making them cost prohibitive for local operators. The prospects look promising for a 2015 launch date.

In April 2013, Foton Pak intends to change our company name Busco Transit Pvt Ltd to better identify with our mission and purpose. Documents have already been filed with SECP. From the beginning, Foton Pak has operated under the DBA of Busco Lahore. Thus, a change to Busco Transit will be a minor change to the traveling public but major for our enhanced mission. Further, as we take on more manufacturers within our operations portfolio, our Foton identify becomes less and less critical to our success.

Foton Pak was established with the mission to provide quality transportation services to the people of Pakistan. With the advent of the Lahore project, we have fulfilled the destiny of the company and now seek to enhance our mission by entering into other needful areas. The securing of the bank guarantee or Stand By Letter of Credit will allow for a great deal of our plans to materialize expeditiously.
